Technical Information

For the SME:   The tool is available in a single user version on a CD.  The SME can insert the CD and install the tool on their desktop in several minutes.  

For the Bank:  The tool is available in an enterprise version that will enable the bank to store all the files on a server in a central location.  This will allow for SME portfolio management and analysis.

The tool uses a SQL based multi-user relational database to maintain its information.  The database access is embedded within the Delphi application, thus eliminating the need for additional program setup.   The program is designed to work on Microsoft servers, and is available to multiple users at their individual computers.  Access, which is controlled by an Administrative user who defines what each user is allowed to do within the system, is via a user sign on screen.

Client requirements:

1. Operating system – Windows, ideally Windows XP.
2. Disk Space – Approximately 50 megabytes.
3. Internal memory (RAM) – 64 megabytes.
4. Access to the server via “UNC” convention or a mapped drive to the server.  The first time the program is executed, it will ask the user for the “path” to the server, and will include a “browse” button to assist in locating the information on the server.

Server requirements:

1. Operating System – Windows server, ideally Windows 2003 Business/Enterprise server.
2. Disk Space – Initially 40 megabytes, but will grow as new companies are added.  Each company will require approximately 600,000 bytes.
3. Folders on the server must be sharable and have Read, Write access and the ability to create files and folders.
